God is the shopkeeper of souls

Published: 15th April 2010

Here's the first of what I'm sure will be many short stories that I'll write. I think it's a neat little story about one man and his robot. And their robot child. It's a sci-fi type short story but without too much in the way of hard science.

Hope you enjoy it!

Prologue

Way back, more than two thousand years ago, lived the father of our new time, Abel Smith. Abel was like you or I, he had 5 digits on each hand, four limbs, a brain to keep important information in (like: where were his socks, how does the kettle work, who is this man in the mirror, and so on) and generally lived the same kind of life as we live now. Not a great deal has changed since then, though it should have, and at times you might be hard pressed to believe it. The big difference, of course, was that this was all Before God (BG). Abel Smith gave us this term. That's the story I want to tell you all about today.
